Emure Council Boss bags award of excellence as outstanding chairman 2023

The Chairman of Emure Local Government, Hon. Adu Joseph has been conferred with the prestigious award of Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award (LOGMA) 2023 following his impressive performance in the area of Infrastructure, Rural Development, Human Capital Development,Youth Development and health services.

The award was bestowed on him on Friday, 24th November, 2023 alongside other 21 council chairmen in Nigeria by Mentos Communications at the National Merit House, Maitama District, Abuja .

The award, according to the chairman, Board of Directors of the Outfit (the publishers of Landmarks Magazine),Chief Bayode Ojo, was designed to showcase the achievements of Council Bosses with the aim of rewarding excellence in grassroots governance.

He congratulated all the award winners for making the final list after rigorous scrutiny through spot-checking of some of their executed projects to ascertain the veracity of their claims.

Chief Ojo urged the awardees to continue to lead by examples towards ensuring sustainable growth at the grassroots and the country at large.

He called on the Federal Government to initiate processes that could lead to granting of financial autonomy to the Local Government system in the country to enable the leaders at the third tier to deliver on their mandates .

In his goodwill message at the well- attended event, the Honorable Minister of Special Duties & Inter-Governmental Affairs, the Rt. Hon. Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo, ably represented by Mrs Ehujoh Patience lauded the Councils’ Chairmen for the steadfast commitment to the advancement of their various communities.

He noted that the event was not only a celebration of the dedicated leaders who had tirelessly served the Local Governments but also a testament to the enduring spirit of excellence and selfless commitment to public service that has defined our great nation. He called on the Councils’ helmsmen to be re- committed to the principles of Good Governance, Accountability and Service to the people. The Minister further stated that through the principles, brighter future could be built for our beloved country.

Hon.Adu Joseph while reacting to the conferment, applauded the organizers of the programme for recognizing his Administration’s laudable achievements and promised to work harder in bringing more dividends of democracy to the good people of Emure Local Government in support of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s Administration in Ekiti State.

The awardee lauded the Governor for giving Ekiti Local Governments the free hands to operate and the enabling environment for the Local Government system to thrive thereby making it possible for him to qualify for the coveted award.

The event was attended by the Leader of the House, Hon Titus Ogundare, APC Party Leaders in the Local Government area, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr Bola Babalola and some Community leaders.
