ELEMO OF OKE-EMO IN ILAWE EKITI HIGH CHIEF AGBONA CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY IN GRAND-STYLE

...empowers subjects, laments political marginalization

Friends, family, community members and well wishers on Sunday showered encomium on the Elemo of OKE-EMO, in IIawe Ekiti, Ekiti Southwest Local Government, High Chief Gbenga Agbona during a special event to mark his twentieth anniversary.

The well attended event featured the inauguration of Oke-Emo Community Legend, cash donation to an outstanding student, Ominu Oluwatomisin and presentation of a sewing machine to Temidayo Oke to support her trade.

Awards of outstanding leadership was bestowed on the Elemo of Ilawe Ekiti, High Chief Gbenga Agbona by the Youths of Oke Emo, Ilawe Ekiti for his contributions to human and community development.

Also, sir Lawrence Egunjobi, Retired Commodore Kayode Olofinmoyin were given outstanding leadership awards while posthumous award was given to Alhaji Aderemi Jimoh Badmus.

In his address, the celebrant, High Chief Gbenga Agbona thanked God for the successes recorded so far despite some challenges.

He explained that through the help of some sons and daughters of the community, he had achieved many developmental projects such solar street lamps, boreholes, roads construction, scholarship awards to outstanding and indigent students, youth and women empowerment, free medical outreach among others.

High Chief Agbona attributed the achievements to the support of well meaning sons and daughters of Oke Emo, Ilawe Ekiti and prayed to God to continue providing for them.

He therefore expressed disappointment over alleged marginalization of the community in the appointment of political office holders calling for correction.

In separate interviews, some of the people that graced the anniversary including Asolo of Ikole Ekiti, High Chief Olu Ogunsakin, Chief Olubunmi Ajibade and Chairman, Ekiti South West Local Government, Mr Richard Apolola commended High Chief Gbenga Agbona for promoting peace, unity and progress in the community.
