EKSG Distributes 28 million Health Grants to Support Patients

…..as Governor’s Wife charges Nigerians to pay attention to their health.

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has assisted some patients to offset their hospital bills with a call on them to pay close attention to their health and cooperate with health workers at every point of treatment.

Dr Oyebanji gave the charge at the disbursement of twenty eight million naira health grant to vulnerable patients at the Oba Adejuyigbe General Hospital in Ado-Ekiti.

The First Lady enjoined the people to always comply with directions within their control towards the restoration of their health, including cooperation with the care-providers, complying with treatment, and remaining optimistic.

The Governor’s Wife reiterated the commitment of the Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji to his campaign promises to prioritize the prosperity of all and sundry.

According to her, “The State government recognizes such burden that could be occasioned by ill health, especially in this time that we live in. Hence, the financial assistance for medical care entails the setting aside of a pool of funds, yearly, to support such individuals and enable them to get access to quality care in a non-discriminatory manner.”

She noted that the random selection of beneficiaries are people currently receiving treatment within Public health facilities in the state, persons who require specific treatment that is available within the State but are yet to receive them and
those who require treatment outside the State.

In a remark the commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Oyebanji Fulani stated that one of the goals of the ministry was to ensure that the people enjoyed government interventions through cash donations to support their medical bills.

According to the commissioner, the tranche of the cash donations meant for about fourty beneficiaries may not be able to cater absolutely for all the required medical attention, but it will go a long way to reduce their medical expenses.

The occasion attracted the presence of the chairman Ekiti Traditional Council of Obas, Oba Gabriel Adejuwon, Chairman house committee on health and HIV Aids, Hon. Teju Okuyiga, Permanent Secretaries, Political appointees, among others.
