…Says this stands for vote of confidence in gov’s performance
The Ekiti State Commissioner er for Youth Development, Hon. Gold Adesola Adedayo, has praised the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress for endorsing Governor Biodun Oyebanji for second term.
The Commissioner stated that the endorsement coming barely two years of Governor Oyebanji’s first term signposted how impressive and superlative his performance has been in the last 20 months.
Adedayo hailed the party for taking such an apt and timely decision that would further propel the governor to rev the pedal of development across all the sectors of the state’s economy.
The Commissioner, said these in a statement, on Friday, while reacting to the party’s State Working Committee Thursday’s endorsement of Governor Oyebanji to have a second shot as the governor in the 2026 gubernatorial poll.
The party made the announcement, during Governor Oyebanji’s visit to the party’s Secretariat in Ajilosun Area of Ado Ekiti metropolis to fraternise with party leaders.
Hailing the action taken by the party’s top hierarchy, Adedayo said the action would be a morale booster to the governor, rather than a distraction.
He said Governor Oyebanji earned the endorsement because of the diligent way he had executed all the good policies and programmes of government woven around the six-point agenda of his administration.
The Commissioner added that Governor Oyebanji performance in aggressive road construction, provision of legacy facilities and prioritisation of the welfare of workers and citizens through prompt payment of salaries, gratuity, pension and regular distribution of palliatives earned him the endorsement.
With this feat, Adedayo stated that Governor Oyebanji had again etched his name in the historical book as the first Ekiti Governor to have been wholly endorsed by party’s SWC and other top profile figures without dissension barely two years into the first term.
“Let me congratulate the party and our amiable Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on this endorsement.
“Though, we all know that it was well deserved and well warned; that was why there wasn’t any division within the party’s SWC’s ranks and all members in taking this decision.
“It is a thing of pride to all of us as APC members seeing our governor being given a vote of confidence that vividly attested to how acceptable his performance has been. I know that this endorsement will further make our governor to work to uplift our dear state.
“It is now time for all of us to be focused and rally round the governor to be able to make his plans a fruition for our dear people of Ekiti State and for that future to be brighter more than ever imagined by our citizens”, Adedayo stated.
