…as Government Gives Reason for Delay
Ekiti State Government has said that the delay in the payment of the May 2022 salary was due to efforts to make adjustments to capture promotion benefits of workers.
This is contained in a statement in Ado Ekiti signed by the Commissioner of Finance, Hon. Akin Oyebode.
It reads “The Government of Ekiti State wishes to state that the unusual slight delay in the payment of May 2022 salaries and pensions is due to the implementation of the 2017 and 2018 promotion exercise across all levels, as well as the consequential adjustment of minimum wage for Level 13 only, which led to delays in payroll computation.
According to Mr. Akintunde Oyebode, the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development: “the adjustments have now been completed and both salaries and pensions for May 2022 will be paid within 24 hours.”
