Ekiti State Governor’s Wife Doles out Gifts, Cash to Mothers of Triplets

In a heartwarming gesture, the wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has extended financial and material assistance to two families who recently gave birth to a set of triplets each in Ado-Ekiti.

The Governor’s wife, represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Olapeju Babafemi, made the presentations at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital and Maternal and Child Specialist Hospital, Ado Ekiti, respectively.

Dr. Oyebanji, in her congratulatory message expressed immense joy over the safe arrival of the babies, describing them as rare gifts from God.

She encouraged parents to take diligent care in raising their children, noting the significant responsibility that comes with nurturing children, especially multiple babies.

She emphasized the state government’s commitment to supporting families and ensuring the well-being of mothers and children in Ekiti State which, according to her, was encapsulated in the share prosperity of Governor Oyebanji.

The First Lady commended the hospital’s management for their dedication and professionalism as she urged them to continue providing high-quality care for the newborns.

“This presentation today underscores the state’s commitment to maternal and child health and the government of Governor Biodun Oyebanji would not relent in giving priority to the healthcare of mothers in Ekiti state”.

In his remark, the Chief Medical Director of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Professor Kayode Olabanji said the visit of the first lady has again encouraged the staff and mothers because she has always been visiting the hospital and has been extending helping hands to patients at the facility, especially mothers and newborns.

The Government House Medical Doctor, Dr. Akintayo Temitayo, who examined the babies said the triplets were in good health, with birth weights of 1.9kg, 1.8kg, and 1.7kg respectively.

Appreciating the Governor’s wife on behalf of the benefiting families, Mrs. Helen Awodumila said the gesture was seen as part of the usual efforts of the first lady to prioritize family welfare and support healthcare. They thanked the wife of the Governor for her consistent generosity and prayed for the first family to have a smooth sail as they pilot the affairs of Ekiti State.
