It was a moment of celebration as friends, family and well wishers converged on cathybee event centre Ado Ekiti to celebrate the appointment of Mrs Dolapo Dasola Ojo as the first statistician General of Ekiti state and Birthday anniversary.
The celebrant, family members and well wishers danced to musics sang by the Police band to appreciate God for the grace and privileged given to her to become the first female statistician General in South West states and celebrate her birthday in sound and good health.
Speaking at the event which was well attended by government functionaries, pioneer statistician General in Ekiti State, Mr Jide Oguntimeyin, a retired Director, Mr Folorunso Agboola and acting Ondo state Statiscian General, Mr Olusola Ajayi Congratulated Mrs Ojo on the well deserved appointment due to her contributions to development and advancement of Bureau of Statistics in Ekiti State and charged her not to relent in using the position to promote statistics profession.
In their separate interviews, Husband of the celebrant, Otunba Olusola Ojo, her Daughter Adesewa Ojo and her younger sister, Mrs Romoke Alao appreciated God on behalf the new Statiscian General and prayed for her to achieve success during her tenure.
In her remark, the newly appointed Statiscian General of Ekiti State, Mrs Dolapo Dasola Ojo thanked Governor Biodun Oyebanji for given him opportunity to serve and appreciated her Husband and family members for their love and caring, saying such Led to the fit.
She thanked Governor Oyebanji for given women opportunity to serve in his administration, promising that women in Ekiti would not disappoint him and continue to work for him to achieve success.
According to her, no Southwest states have appointed women as Statiscian General, saying Governor Oyebanji has broken the long time jinx for given her the opportunity to serve in his admistration.
Thanksgiving service was also held at holy Family Catholic Church, Basiri Ado Ekiti to appreciate God for the opportunity.
