Ekiti Police Parades Notorious Criminals, Cultists

Ekiti State Police Command has paraded over thirty suspects arrested for different criminal offenses, ranging from, kidnapping,  cultism and robbery.

Below is the statistics of those arrested as stated by the Police PRO Sunday Abutu.

A. *AREEST OF EIGHTEEN(18) SUSPECTED CULTISTS OVER THE KILLING OF ONE AJAYI SUNDAY a.k.a IBADAN and OWOLABI AYOOLA MOSES ON 06/3/2022 IN OYE-EKITI. :*
On 28/5/2022 at about 08:00hrs, a team of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), acting on a tip-off, swooped on a criminal hideout in Ikole-Ekiti  where  suspected cult members were holding their  initiation. Those arrested include one Alayerogun Taiwo, Fatoye Ayomide, Ogunsakin Sikiru, Oluwadare Femi, Bimbola Samuel, Afolabi Anuoluwapo, Adelola Adedeji, Ogundola Bamidele and Adeyemo Timilehin, Johnson Believe, Kolawole Akeem, Babalola Ayomide, Fanimo Gbenga, Awoyemi  Bunmi, Charles Aleba, Thomas Ayomide, Obanla Tayo and Anjorin Ayodeji. During  interrogation, the suspects confessed to be members of Aiye secret confraternity and participated in the killing of one Ajayi Sunday a.k.a Ibadan and Owolabi Ayoola Moses on 06/3/2022 in Oye-Ekiti. Items recovered from them are: One cut to size single barrel gun, two cutlasses and ten suspected  stolen motorcycles which they were using in carrying out their nefarious activities.
  Effort is on going to arrest other fleeing suspects.

B. *ARREST OF TWO(2) KIDNAPPERS/ARMED ROBBERY:*
On 31/3/2022 at about 16:00hrs, a gang of armed hoodlums numbering about nine(9) accosted one Sani Mamuda, a Fulani herdsman who was rearing his cattle along Eruku/Itapaji forest. In the process, the hoodlums, at gun point, rustled thirty-five(35) cattles from him while he managed to escape from the scene.
Investigation led to the arrest of one Dairu Adamu, Usman Saidu and Nura Usman who are notorious kidnappers and cattle rustlers.

C. *ARREST OF SUSPECTED NOTORIOUS ARMED ROBBERS WHO HAD BEEN ON POLICE WANTED LIST :*
On 29/3/2022 at about 23:00hrs, a gang of armed men numbering about six(6) stormed Maxwell Hospital, Nova Road, Ado-Ekiti. The hoodlums, at gun point, robbed Dr Ojo Dada Emmanuel, Balogun Ahmed and other staff and patients in the Hospital of their belongings such as mobile phones, laptop computers, wedding ring and cash sum of fifty thousand naira (#50,000). Upon their departure from the Hospital, the armed robbers also hijacked one Toyota Corolla car valued three million naira (#3,000,000:00) from Dr Ojo Dada Emmanuel. Further investigation led to the arrest of one Lasisi Afeez a.k.a Yemi SARS and one itel phone belonging to one of the victims which was carted away from the scene of crime was found in his possession. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to be among the armed robbers that robbed the hospital alongside one Omotoyinbo Samuel a.k.a ELEVEN, Ajewole Peter a.k.a Peter Ifaki and Ladele who is currently at large. Further investigation led to the arrest of one Ilesanmi Seun a.k.a Adere who supplied a locally made cut to size single barrel gun and three(3) cartridges to the gang for the operation.
Investigation led to the arrest of Omotoyinbo Samuel a.k.a ELEVEN on 03/5/2022 in Lagos by the Command’s RRS operatives alongside his wife Omotoyinbo Omowumi. Omotoyinbo Samuel, who was the leader of the gang, confessed to the commission of the crime that took place in Maxwell Hospital, Ado-Ekiti. He admitted that he started armed robbery in 2015. He mentioned one Fadairo Oyindamola Samuel a.k.a Rochie, Akinleye Seyi a.k.a Erin, Samuel Omoiku Yeye, Orio, Ose, Tunji, Tunde, Amidu and M.K who were earlier arrested and are currently in correctional custody as members of his gang who had committed series of armed robbery operations with him before they were later arrested. Omotoyinbo Samuel claimed to be a member of the supreme Eiye confraternity and popularly called ELEVEN in Ekiti State while he is known as ARAB MONEY in Lagos State. He confessed further that he was among the armed robbery gang that attacked WEMA bank, Iyin-Ekiti in 2020 and mentioned one Afe Ayodeji a.k.a Yeye Adejumo Kehinde a.k.a Orio and Ardinoi Samuel a.k.a Samuel Ebira as members of his syndicate who are based in Abuja and Ondo State. He also confessed that himself and his gang members were the ones who kidnapped a Chinese expatriate at a construction site in new Iyin road, Ado-Ekiti in 2020. The suspect said that his wife was fully aware of his criminal activities and most of the money he had been making were given to her for her upkeep. Effort is underway to arrest other members of the gang.

D. *ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERS WHOSE SPECIALTY IS TO SNATCH MOTORCYCLES AT GUN POINTS AND THE RECEIVERS OF THE STOLEN MOTORCYCLES:*
Ekiti State Police Command has busted a syndicate of armed robbers who specializes in snatching motorcycles at gun points and selling to receivers in Ondo and Zamfara States. Those arrested include Omodara Sanya, Lasisi Talabi, Bamisile Lateef, Alex Peter and Omojola Damilare. Investigation revealed that motorcycles robbed by this syndicate were in turn sold to notorious receivers and their agents in Ondo and Zamfara States. The agents arrested include Abubakar Garuba, Adamu Mohammed and Aliyu Sani.
However, five (5) suspected stolen motorcycles were recovered from them. Effort is ongoing arrest other members of the gang and  recover the stolen motorcycles in his possession.

E. *ARREST OF TWO (2) CULTISTS WHO ATTACKED TWO EKSU STUDENTS AT THEIR RESIDENTIAL APARTMENT IN IWOROKO-EKITI:*
The Command operatives arrested two suspected cultists who attacked two students of Ekiti State University on 15/5/2022 with dangerous weapons such as  guns, axes and cutlasses at their residential apartment in Recilian Hostel, Iworoko-Ekiti and inflicted varying degrees of injuries on them while their apartment’s windows and gates were badly damaged. The suspects arrested include one Akinbo Abayomi Babatunde and Shodipe David. During interrogation, the two suspects made confessional statements to be members of the Black Axe “AIYE” confraternity. Upon searching their houses, one camouflage cap with Pirate Secret cult insignia was recovered. Effort is ongoing to arrest the other members of the gang.

F. *ARREST OF A CATTLE RUSTLER AND A RECEIVER OF RUSTLED CATTLE:*
On 30/4/2022 at about 04:00hrs, one Yahu Bello and Muhamed Alima were arrested in Ikole-Ekiti for cattle rustling. Also arrested is one  Ajayi Emmanuel for receiving the rustled cattle.

4. Definitely, as soon as investigations are concluded, all the suspects arrested shall be charged to Court for prosecution.

5. The Command wishes to appreciate the members of the public, especially the good spirited members of the public, whose useful and timely information supplied have led to these tremendous breakthroughs.

6. The Command also acknowledges the support and cooperation of the Military, the DSS and other Security Agencies, including the Amotekun, Vigilantees and the local Hunters in the fight against crimes and criminalities in the State.
