Ekiti Police Command Vows to Impound Vehicles Without Third Insurance Policy

…commences full enforcement

In compliance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo has ordered immediate commencement of the full enforcement of the mandatory Third-Party Insurance Policy for motor vehicles.

In a statement by the command public Relations officer, Mr Sunday Abutu, the Commissioner enjoined all vehicle owners to ensure they comply with the directive as the Third-Party Insurance will promote road safety, provides protection for road users against liabilities arising from accidents which involve insured vehicles amongst other benefits.

CP Eribo noted that Vehicles without the Third-Party Insurance would be impounded and owners penalized in accordance with the law.

while addressing the Officers charged of the enforcement, the Commissioner tasked them to be professional, respect the rights of citizens and firmly discharge their duty.
