Ekiti People Express Readiness to Vote on Saturday

Say Ekiti is Peaceful, No Course for Alarm

People of Ekiti State have expressed enthusiasm to come out during the Saturday’s election and Vote for their preferred candidate without any fear of molestation or intimidation.

The people spoke with Roundoffnews during a vox pop conducted in some communities within the three Senatorial districts of  the state.

According to the respondents, Ekiti is relatively peaceful and calm as against the picture painted on social media by some third columnists and enemies of the state.

Some of the people who spoke including a trader Mrs Sola Kayode, an artisan Sunday Ajisafe, a civil servant Mrs Tope Ogunfowokan and many others commended the Federal Government for the deployment of security agents, saying such action was a clear signal that government is concerned about the wellbeing of electorate and success of the poll.

One of them said: “Let no body paint Ekiti State in a bad light due to their desperation,  Ekiti is one of the peaceful states in the country.

I think what actually happened some days ago when a driver was shot at Itaji Ekiti should not be used as a yardstick to measure the atmosphere.

The situation has been brought under control and normalcy has returned.

I want to appeal to everyone to come out and vote for a candidate that would sustain the growth already witnessed in the state.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Police Command has given an assurance that every electorate would be duly protected during the election.

Spokesperson for the command, DSP Sunday Abutu urged people of the state to be calm and come out to vote without any fear of molestation.
