…pray for peaceful Ekiti guber election
The leadership of Pensioners Association of Nigeria, PAN, Ekiti State on Tuesday commended the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji for the prompt and regular payment of the monthly pensions of Ekiti Pensioners.
They made this commendation on Tuesday during the first quarterly meeting of the State Executive Council (SEC) and State Administrative Committee (SAC) of the Association.
The State Chairman of the Association, Comrade Akinola Joel specially commended the Governor for his special interest in the welfare of his members by paying the March pensions early for them to celebrate Sallah.
The Chairman, who enjoined his members to be prudent in their spendings, seized the occasion to pray for the State Government and also wish the Governor success in his second term ambition.
The Chairman made a passionate appeal to the State Government to set more funds aside for the quick payment of the humongous arrears of gratuities of Pensioners.
Akinola enjoined Ekiti Pensioners to take good care of their health by attending the Basic Health facilities closest to them for the Pensioners’ free Healthcare initiative provided by the State Government.
He re-emphasized that individual members could be involved in partisan politics. He however warned that the Association, as a body, should not be dragged into party-politics.
In another development, the Pensioners prayed for peace in Ekiti State, and appealed to politicians to conduct their political campaigns without acrimony.
