…..extends new year greetings to council workers
The State Administrative Council of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Ekiti State has rejoiced with the state governor, Abiodun Oyebanji on his emergence as the Silverbird Man of the Year 2024, describing the recognition as well deserved.
The Council in a statement sign the president, Comrade Oluseyi Olatunde and the Publicity Secretary, Comrade Yinkafemi Monsurat Oladipupo affirmed that the Governor had shown rare leadership skills and high sense of humanity which a major qualities for such recognition.
He affirmed that council workers were major beneficiaries of the good deeds of the Governor highlighting some of his impacts to include, appointment of more permanent secretaries and executive secretaries into the Local Government Service to broaden the career prospects of staff; prompt payment of workers salaries and allowances as well as steady offset of leave bonus including the revisiting of outstanding ones; approval of 2022 and 2023 promotion exercises to deserving officers and translation to payment and a gift of a brand new Toyota Hiace (Hummer) bus to obviate the transportation challenges of the Union’.
Meanwhile, Comrade Olatunde has extended a warm felicitation to all Local Government workers in Ekiti State for witnessing the new year in peace and good health.
In his New Year message, Comrade Olatunde said: “I am particularly indebted to God Almighty for His mercies and grace that have brought us all to year 2025. 2024, no doubt, was challenging, but God took us through it safely and on a joyous note at the end of it’.
According to him, the out-gone 2024 was eventful with lots of challenges. In spite, the Union was able to surmount the situations with remarkable achievements.
The labour leader also eulogised Ekiti State veteran Union leaders for their priceless roles in guiding the Union and offering behind the scenes supports using Chief Segun Onaade, commissioner in Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission as a point of contact.
Comrade Olatunde lauded the amiable and motherly Permanent Secretary, Mrs Titilayo Toba-Ojo describing her as ‘an excellent administrator with people centred management skills which have made her to record positive impacts.
Reflecting on the achievements of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, the President commended the Commission’s Chairman, Mr Samuel Adewumi Abejide for making his wealth of experience to bear on the service stressing that Ekiti State local government workers have occupied a place of pride in service delivery and professionalism.
Olatunde expressed satisfaction on the competence and vision of the highly revered APC leader who has the ears of Mr Governor urging him not to relent on his oars.
He assured the workforce that the union would remain resolute in her pursuit of their welfare and the enhancement of the local government service to fast-track developments at the grass.
