As part of its constitutional responsibilities, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Council has announced it’s plans to engage all candidates contesting the forthcoming election.
According to a statement by the secretary of the council, Kayode Babatuyi, the engagement is to enable the candidates speak to the world on their programmes and manifestoes if elected.
It explains that the exercise will also enable the electorate have an idea about the background, qualities and programmes of the candidates so as to cast their votes out of informed decision.
The engagement which has been tagged “Guest Platform” will begin this week with the APC house of representatives candidate, Akin Rotimi.
All candidates are enjoined to honour the invitation adding that the programme will be given adequate publicity in all media organizations.
