Ekiti lawmakers accept to play journalists in football match

We will teach them football…NUJ Chairman boasts

Members of the 7th Ekiti State House of Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker, Right. Hon. Steven Aribasoye has accepted to confront members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council in a novelty match.

The match which is part of activities lined up to mark the 2024 Press Week of NUJ, Ekiti State Council will take place on the 11th of October, 2024 at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium by 4pm.

NUJ had earlier proposed the match in a letter communicated to the speaker.

The acceptance to play the watch was communicated to the NUJ chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi in a letter dated 20th of September and signed by the Deputy Clerk of the House, Miss Oluwaseun Oba.

Responding to the letter, NUJ Chairman, Kayode Babatuyi said the media professionals are battle ready to display their skills and beat the lawmakers mercilessly.

He called on members of the public to come in large number to support the NUJ team.
