EKITI LABOUR UNIONS ENDORSE GOVERNOR OYEBANJI FOR SECOND TERM

It was an atmosphere of encomium today as the entire labour leaders in Ekiti State gathered at the lady Jibowu Hall, Government House Ado Ekiti to commend the lofty programmes of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, especially in the area of workers’welfare and endorsed him for second term in office.

Speaking at the event, tagged “Labour roundtable meeting with the Governor” Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, Mr Sola Adigun and his counterpart from NLC, Mr Kolapo Olatunde described the Governor as round peg in a round hole, hence the need for labour force and residents of the State to continue supporting him beyond first term in office.

The labour leaders explained that this is the first time in the history of Ekiti State that workers were given what is due to them without agitating and confrontation,hence the need for the commendation and endorsement.

Speaking at the event , Special Adviser to the Governor on labour Matters, Mr Kayode Fatomiluyi highlighted the contributions of the governor to welfare of workers in Ekiti to include approval of minimum wage, increment of subvention to higher institutions, prompt payment of Workers salary, payment of leave bonuses, saying he has performed beyond the expectations of Ekiti workers.

Reacting, Governor Biodun Oyebanji appreciated Ekiti workers for deeming it fit to to throw their support behind him and promised not to relent in his efforts to serve residents of the State wholeheartedly.

The Governor noted that his government would continue to introduce ideas and policies that would make life better for the people.
