EKITI HEALTH SECTOR RECORDS MORE SUCCESS STORIES THROUGH C-19RM/RSSH GRANT

More positive changes and developments have been witnessed in some primary health facilities in Ekiti State through the implementation of the Global Fund C-19RM/RSSH Grant by the appointed Community Based Organizations.

The  C-19RM/RSSH Grant is a project sponsored by Global Fund with the aim of mobilizing communities to take ownership of primary health facilities in their areas and complement government’s efforts towards enhancing their capacities.

The project is currently running in  five councils which are Oye, Ikole, Ijero, Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun.

At it’s monthly coordination meeting held at the office of the Environmental Development and Family Health Organization, EDFHO, Ado Ekiti, representatives of the Community Based Organizations in charge of the projects highlighted their success stories both in the previous facilities they worked on and the new ones.

In their various reports, the  CBOs narrated how they have been able to facilitate solar power to some health facilities, donations from community members, a development that has increased the patronage of the hospitals by members of the communities.

Speaking at the meeting, the state programme officer, Mrs. Funke Omojola commended the CBOs and urged them to keep pushing harder so as to realize the full target of the project.

Also speaking at the coordination meeting, the ACOMIN state Chairman, Sir Olu Ogunrotimi expressed happiness over the success stories.

Sir. Ogunrotimi called on well meaning individuals and corporate bodies in the affected councils where the project is going on to support the initiative so as to ensure that people at the grassroots have access to health care services.

During their presentations, representatives of the CBOs Promised to continue to put in their best in the task at hand.
