A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in Ekiti State, Mr Bunmi Adeyanju has called on residents of the State to maintain decorum before, during and after the June 18 governorship election.
According to him, the success of any election depends largely on the attitude of the electorate.
Mr Adeyanju known as Ayanfe Ekiti spoke while addressing some PDP members in his home town Agbado Ekiti.
Ayanfe Gbonyin told the gathering not to see election as do or die affairs, saying it is only those alive that could benefit from the dividend of democracy.
Mr Adeyanju explained that PDP still remains the best party, hence the need for residents of the state to vote for the candidate of the party, Otunba Bisi Kolawole during the poll.
He said “If PDP candidate emerges, the problem of power supply affecting Gbonyin local government over a decade will be a thing of the past, employment opportunities will be given to our youths while aged will not be left out in the lofty empowerment Programmes of the party.
Ayanfe Ekiti said that people of the state enjoyed good governance in term of community development, payment of salaries, gratuities, pension, infrastructure development among others when PDP ruled the State, saying more of such would be available, if Otunba Kolawole becomes the governor.
The PDP stallwart called on the members of the party to continue mobilizing for Otunba Kolawole and his Deputy Governorship candidate ahead of the poll.
Ayanfe Ekiti said people should give priority to development of their various local governments and desist from praising government based of appointments given to few people.
He therefore used the forum to appeale to leaders of the party to complement Former governor Fayose’s efforts by given necessary support to the party’s candidate in the interest of Ekiti people.
At the forum, Hon. Adeyanju lamented how some Nigerians have take politic as a career, noting that they should choose something else as profession.
He explained that such was one the factors affecting Democratic system in the country.
