Ekiti Govt Will End Multiple Taxation on Hotel Owners – Olatona Assures

Ekiti State Government has assured hotel owners in the state that the problem of multiple taxation in the hospitality industry in the state will soon be solved.

The assurance was given by the Executive Chairman, Ekiti State Board of Internal Revenue, Pastor Niran Olatona during a meeting with representatives of the Ekiti State Hotel Owners Forum in Ado-Ekiti.

Pastor Olatona informed the Hoteliers Forum that some taxes in the state have already been harmonised while the Taiwo Oyedele Committee on harmonisation of taxes set up by the Federal Government will soon complete its works on the harmonisation of the various taxes in the country.

While urging hotel owners in the state to cooperate with the Ekiti State Government by paying their taxes on time to allow government to deliver dividends of democracy to the people, he promised to partner with the Forum to increase their patronage.

Earlier, the President of the Hotel Owners Forum, Mr. Fola Ayedun highlighted problems being faced by hotel owners in the state which include multiple taxation, low patronage, lack of electricity and bad roads.

He pledged the support and cooperation of hotel owners to Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration and requested for government patronage for the Forum members.
