Ekiti Governor’s Wife Empowers Orphans

…Charges Them On Commitment To Academics

Wife of Ekiti State Governor Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has Empowered fifty Orphans with Financial Support of twenty five thousand Naira each, as Part of Ongoing Scholarship Programme from Primary School to University level, under Widows and Orphans Hope Project.

The Governor’s wife who was represented by the coordinator of the Widows, Aged and Orphans Hope project, WAOH, Mrs Kemi Dairo performed the ceremony at her office in Ado Ekiti noted that the effort remained part of commitment to secure the future of children, especially those facing hardships of not having parents.

Dr Oyebanji noted that, as the second academic term commence, the scholarship renewal was essential to ensure that the beneficiaries, continue their educational journey without the burden of financial constraints.

“It is the belief that education is the greatest gift we can offer, and that no child, regardless of their background, should be deprived of the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
Scholarship is not just financial support it is a vote of confidence in your potential and a promise that we will continue to stand with you” She added

The Governor’s wife encouraged the beneficiaries to work hard, stay focused, and aim for excellence in every endeavour as well as their undertakens.

She also advised the Guardians of the wards to always encourage the children to prioritize their studies and do away with activities that could truncate their future.

The First Lady however commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Premium Bank and all other stakeholders who have made the initiative possible, and gave assurance that a brighter future would be secured and guaranteed for the children.

In their goodwill messages, the Senior
Special Assistant to the wife of the governor, on Political Matters, Mrs Toyin Adepoju, Senior Special Adviser on Advocacy, Dr Eunice Fasanmi urged the pupils to explore the opportunity provided by the wife of the governor.

The beneficiaries were selected from public schools across the state, thanking the wife of the governor for the opportunity, privilege and support.
