Ekiti Governor Urges 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps Members to Embrace Entrepreneurship

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abiodun Oyebanji, has called on members of the 2025 Batch C of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the state to embrace entrepreneurship, agriculture, and community service as key drivers of national development.

The governor, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth Development, Mrs. Shola Femi-Akinluyi, delivered the message during the swearing-in ceremony at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ise-Orun/Emure, Ekiti State.

Oyebanji congratulated the corps members on the commencement of their service year, describing the orientation course as a critical foundation for the NYSC’s mandate of fostering national unity and integration. He noted that the country’s longstanding overdependence on government jobs underscored the importance of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, which he said offers corps members an opportunity to build sustainable careers during and after their service year.

The governor reaffirmed the commitment of the state government—working with development partners and financial institutions—to support the entrepreneurial ambitions of corps members. He encouraged them to take full advantage of opportunities available through the Community Development Service (CDS) and their Places of Primary Assignment (PPA) to make meaningful contributions to their host communities.

In his remarks, the NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Alhaji Riko Abdullahi, expressed appreciation to the governor for what he described as his unwavering support for the scheme. He also appealed for further infrastructural development at the orientation camp.

Abdullahi urged the corps members to be ambassadors of unity, peace, and positive change wherever they are posted, and to remain committed to upholding the core values and mission of the NYSC.
