Ekiti Government Trains Senior Civil Servants on Human Resource Management, Public Policy

Ekiti State Government has trained administrative officers on Grade Levels 13,14 and 15 in the Ekiti State Civil Service on Leadership, Administration, Human Resource Management, and Public Policy.

The training which was organized by the Ministry of Capacity Development and Training (MCDT) is aimed at strengthening the capacity of the workers and enhance their leadership skills for better service delivery.

The workshop which was held virtually featured presentations from four resource persons who engaged the participants on contemporary methodologies and current realities in the Civil Service.

The Resource Persons for the virtual workshop were the President and Chairman of Governing Council of the Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) Mr. Olusegun Mojeed FCIPM, Dr. Akinjide Akinleye mni, Rtd. PS, Ekiti State Civil Service, Dr. Adetayo Eegunlusi, Senior Lecturer at FUTA, and Revd. Tunde Afe, a Leadership and Management Consultant.

In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Capacity Development and Training Mr. Olufemi Adedipe urged the participants to pay rapt attention to the training and be ready to apply the knowledge gained.

While giving the Opening Remarks, the Hon. Commissioner of the Ministry, Prof. Olugbenga Tedela admonished the participants to lay hold on the importance of the virtual workshop and prepare for more of such to come as everything around the world is already moving in the direction of ICT and that the Ekiti State Government under the leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji would leverage technology to train and retrain the workforce of the Ekiti State Civil Service.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health and Human Services, Mrs. Sola Gbenga-Igotun, was among the Special Guests for the Opening Session appreciated the leadership of the Ministry of Capacity Development and Training for coming up with Virtual Workshop initiative to engage the skills of the Ekiti State Civil Servants.

The workshop lasted for 5 hours after the which the Director Capacity Development and Training Mr. Gbenga Emiloju thanked the Ekiti State Governor and Leadership of the Ministry for allowing the maiden edition of Virtual Workshop initiative to commence and encourage the participants to make use of the knowledge acquired during the workshop.
