EKITI GOVERNMENT TRAINS NEWLY EMPLOYED HEALTH WORKERS

...as Capacity Development Commissioner Charges them on Professionalism

Ekiti State Commissioner for Capacity Development and Training, Prof. Patrick Tedela has reiterated the plan of the State Government to ensure constant training of health workers in order to maintain a high standard of health care service delivery in the State.

Speaking at a 3-day Orientation Workshop organized for recently employed Clinical and Non-clinical Officers of the State Hospital’s Management Board, Tedela noted that the recent experience with the Covid 19 pandemic clearly underscores the significance of well structured health care services system and a well trained health care service providers in the State.

He emphasized the readiness of the State Government to embark on frequent training for the workforce, noting that ‘the government of Ekiti State, ably led by His Excellency, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji understands the importance of a well-trained workforce to the achievement of the six pillars of the current administration.’

The Commissioner charged participants to get the best of the training programme in order upscale their skills towards a robust career.

The State Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi who spoke through the Permanent Secretary, Office of Establishment and Service Matters, Mrs Janet Ajibola, congratulated the participants and charged them not to betray the confidence reposed in them by the Government, saying the Biodun Oyebanji led administration will continue to prioritize the welfare of the workers including constant training and capacity development.

Earlier, the duo of Permanent Secretaries, Capacity Development and Training and the Hospital’s Management Board, Mr Olawale Olaleye and Dr Olasunkanmi Alabi expressed their appreciation to the State Government for deeming it fit to organize the training/Orientation Workshop for new Officers.

They charged the participants to pay rapt attention through out the programme, to enable them maximize the privilege the training offers, noting that the future of health care service delivery lies in their hands.

Two of the participants, Nurse Adebayo Timileyin and Dr Olodi Beneth expressed satisfaction with the training programme, noting that it will go a long way to widen their horizon and boost their career.
