Ekiti First Lady Tasks Adire Ekiti Trainees on Sustainability of Fabric

…Says measures in place to support trainees in marketing

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has said that her monitoring team will always keep tab on beneficiares of the ADIRE Ekiti Hub to ensure sustainability of the fabrics in the state.

Oyebanji made the promise while addressing participants at the closing ceremony for the trainees from Ekiti South Senatorial District.

Earlier, a statement from the office of the first lady had rolled out the timetable for the training, indicating that participants from Ekiti Central would commence training next week, while those from Ekiti North will follow.

The statement also indicated that the current sets of trainees are being sponsored by the body of local government chairmen in the state as part of their contributions towards the life-changing initiative.

The first lady who spoke through the Technical Advisor on Adire Ekiti, Dr Abimbola Oni, urged them to continue to practice what they have learnt till they master the process.

She said, “Please note that the hub would be opened for you at all times, and you can always come back and ask questions on grey areas. You can also come back to learn more from the crops of professionals that are here”. She said

She also encouraged them not to hesitate to bring the unsold fabrics from their efforts to the hub, assuring them of immediate purchase of such products from the centre.

While calling on them to establish a cooperative, for easy access to funding, she disclosed that the beneficiaries could be called upon at any time to help in the production of fabrics,

Reacting on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mrs Tina Ajayi, expressed her gratitude to the wife of the governor, and their sponsors, Ekiti ALGON for the opportunity.

They promised to utilize knowledge gained during the training to contribute their quotas to the state’s economic growth.
