EKITI FIRST LADY SEEKS MEDIA SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR OYEBANJI’S GOVERNMENT

….commends Kayode Babatuyi led executive of NUJ

Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has sought the support of Journalists in the state for the government of Governor Biodun Oyebanji so as to enable him deliver on his dream of making Ekiti a model.

Dr. Oyebanji who made the promise while receiving the leadership of the Nigeria Union Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council led by Comrade Kayode Babatuyi noted that the media remains a critical sector that could determine the success of any government.

She noted that Governor Oyebanji meant well for the state hence the introduction of various initiatives and policies that have started impacting positively on the people and the economy.

She commended the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Council and promised her support to make the executive members achieve their goals and visions.

Dr Olayemi explained that such support was necessary due to the roles and contributions of pen professionals to nation building and pledged to attend the October Press Week of the Union.

She therefore appealed to journalists to be unbiased umpire and be objective in their reportage, saying such would earn them respect in the society.

Earlier, the Ekiti NUJ Chairman, Mr Kayode Babatuyi commended the present administration led by Governor Biodun Oyebanji for giving priority to welfare of residents, especially aged and workers.

Comrade Babatuyi also lauded the initiative of Dr Olayemi Oyebanji in the area of women and empowerment particularly the Adire Ekiti scheme

The Ekiti State NUJ Chairman therefore appealed to the Governor to assist in building a press Centre for the union with a promised that members would continue to project government programmes to the world.
