Ekiti State First Lady, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji on Tuesday presented certificates to 530 Adire Ekiti Trainees who just concluded Adire training at Adire Ekiti Hub in Ado-Ekiti.
The Trainees who were drawn from three Senatorial Districts were trained on how to make Adire (Tie and Dye), a local fabric to help them be self-reliant and reduce the spate of unemployed in the state.
The first lady admonished the graduands to ensure they make judicious use of the training acquired so as to be useful for themselves and the society at large.
She also advised them to make use of social media to market their products to the world, especially during this yuletide season.
Dr Oyebanji used the medium to appeal to the well meaning Nigerians and citizens of the state to patronise the trainees by ensuring they buy Adire from them as Christmas hampers to people.
She also appreciated ALGON under the chairmanship of Hon Olusegun Ojo for their financial support and commitment to the training of the young widows and unemployed youths in their different local councils.
Earlier, the ALGON Chairman, Hon. Olusegun Ojo appreciated the first lady for giving them a platform to give back to the society through the Adire training.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the knowledge gained during the training to equip themselves to be relevant to society.
There were goodwill messages from various stakeholders, including the Deputy Governor Chief Christianah Monisade Afuye, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon Peju Babafemi, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon Folorunso Olabode among others.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Bamidele Funmilayo, who could not curtail her joy sang different songs to appreciate the first lady for the platform given to them to learn and make money for themselves.
