Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyabanji has emphasized the need for trainees who have completed their apprenticeship at Adire Ekiti Hub to showcase their talent by being productive after completing their trainings.
The Governor’s wife stated this at Adire Hub in Ado Ekiti while officially closing a week long training for the third batch of participants drawn from Ekiti North Senatorial District.
She explained that being productively engaged with the knowledge gained at the Adire Ekiti Hub would increase their daily income as well as provide means of livelihood for the teaming unemployed youths in Ekiti State.
According to Dr Oyebanji, the style of learning and modern way of different Adire prints exhibited by this group of trainees is however quite impressive as they have shown the highest level of preparedness to learn.
The Governor’s wife said the motive of the programme was to ensure that people were economically empowered and reduce the level of poverty.
“We have drawn the participants from across all the three Senatorial Districts in Ekiti State without any political affiliation and whatever you learn from here make sure you use it to boost the economy of our state. Make sure you use the social media to push your products “. She admonished.
Earlier in her remark, the Technical Advisor, Adire Ekiti Hub, Dr Abimbola Oni encouraged those who have participated in the training not to abandon what they have learnt but to put the knowledge gained into use in order to enhance their economic status.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mrs Funmilayo Bamidele thanked the governor’s wife, Ekiti State government and other stakeholders who collaborated to come up with the idea of given employment to the people through the Adire Training.
530 young widows and unemployed youths across the three Senatorial Districts in Ekiti State participated in the training and more unemployed youths are still expected to be trained in the Hub subsequently.
