…says my dream is to become a professor

The prevalent high rate of unemployment in Nigeria has continued to subject well-meaning citizens in abject poverty.
Particularly, graduates who have gone through the four walls of Higher Institutions are perpetually subjected to pains and anguish in search of jobs in both the public and private sector.
Interestingly, Higher Institutions in the country at the end of each academic session produce the best brains in various disciplines that are expected to contribute their quota to the advancement of the society.
Regrettably, our correspondent upon investigation in Ikere-Ekiti in Ekiti State discovered that an Ekiti-born First Class graduate in Banking and Finance from Wesley University in Ondo State, Mrs Aderonke Bukola Oniye has seen her dream cut short due to the high rate of unemployment in the country.
Our correspondent, who carried out investigations in the area gathered from some residents in her community that she is one of the brilliant students that also serves as an inspiration to the younger ones in the area.
The Ikere-Ekiti academic guru, who also bagged a Distinction in Banking and Finance from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo Ondo State told our correspondent that she resorted to petty trading since there was no collar job.
According to her, she has a dream of becoming a Professor in Finance but the pathetic situation has pegged her as a petty trader.
Mrs Oniye, who also has a PGD in Public Administration, called on government, Nigerians, individuals and organizations to employ her in order for her to actualize her dreams which has made life unbearable since graduation.
Her words: “I’m just doing all these to keep body and soul together since I have not gotten a white collar job.
“I’m appealing to well-meaning Nigerians, government and non-parastatals and business owners to please help me. They should please employ me. I pledge to be efficient and diligence in any place I am employed.
“My dream is to be a Professor in finance. My lecturers used to tell me then that i’m a professor because i’m unemployed that’s why i’m not able to go far. I’m thinking of starting my M.Sc and I need support. I’m begging well-meaning Nigerians to come to my aid so that I can achieve my goals in life.”
