By Adelana Ayomikun
The All Farmers Alliance for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Re-election 2027 (AFA For Tinubu), Ekiti State Chapter, has toured the sixteen local government of Ekiti State to canvas support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election and all Ekiti State APC National Assembly.
The tour also afforded them the opportunity to sensitive the people on the various agricultural interventions of the Federal Government.
The initiative, led by the State Coordinator of AFA in Ekiti, Dr. E.T. Adebayo, is aimed at mobilising farmers, encouraging access to agricultural financing and government support programmes, as well as sensitising members on the importance of participating actively in the electoral process.
The tour, which commenced on Monday, August 24, 2026 lasted for about two weeks with the final visits to Ilejemeje, Moba and Oye Local Government Areas been the local government to be toured.
Speaking during the exercise, Adebayo said the organisation was particularly interested in ensuring that farmers at the grassroots were adequately informed about opportunities available through the Federal Government, including access to the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), agricultural loans, grants and other interventions.
He said the sensitisation was also intended to strengthen AFA’s grassroots structure and mobilise farmers across Ekiti to support President Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office and to support all the All Progressive Congress (APC) across the state in 2027 national election.
Adebayo urged local government coordinators to remain active, transparent and committed to their members, stressing the need for them to mobilise farmers ahead of the 2027 elections.
He listed agricultural support, infrastructure development, economic reforms and interventions in different sectors among what he described as achievements of the Tinubu administration.
He said “The Federal Government has, in fact, identified agriculture as a major pillar of the Renewed Hope Agenda, with the Presidency reporting interventions covering fertiliser, improved seedlings, mechanisation, irrigation, access to finance and markets. The administration has also announced a 2026 fertiliser programme targeted at improving access for farmers and strengthening food production.
Adebayo said such interventions should encourage farmers to take advantage of available opportunities rather than remain outside formal agricultural support systems.
He urged eligible farmers to register with the Bank of Agriculture and other relevant government platforms where applicable, noting that access to finance and agricultural inputs could help farmers expand production and improve their livelihoods.
Tinubu’s Ekiti interventions highlighted
The Director of Agriculture and Cooperatives of AFA, Mr. Alagbada Adebola, also drew attention to what the group considers the impact of the Tinubu administration on Ekiti State.
He mentioned the establishment of a military barracks in Ikere-Ekiti, regular payment of salaries and improved industrial harmony in the state’s institutions among the developments he associated with the administration and its broader support for the state.
The group also highlighted the Federal Government’s role in infrastructure and economic development in Ekiti.
During President Tinubu’s June 2026 visit to the state, the Federal Government commissioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Zonal Directorate Office Complex in Ado-Ekiti and the 1.2-kilometre Okeyinmi flyover, while the Ekiti Knowledge Zone was also launched to promote technology, innovation and economic development.
The Presidency has further stated that the Federal Government remains committed to partnering with the Ekiti State Government to deliver more dividends of democracy and accelerate the Renewed Hope Agenda in the state.
Adaramodu’s call for continuity
The position of Senator Yemi Adaramodu, representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, was also reflected in the group’s mobilisation message.
Adaramodu has previously advocated continuity for the Tinubu administration, citing what he described as the impact of the President’s economic reforms and security strategies.
At the Ekiti APC caucus endorsement of Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, Adaramodu said the President deserved continued support to consolidate the gains of his administration.
His position aligns with AFA’s message to farmers across Ekiti that their participation in the 2027 election should go beyond political mobilisation to include an assessment of government policies and interventions that affect agriculture, infrastructure, employment and livelihoods.
