…visits Ekiti NUJ secretariat

The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Police Command, CP Adeniran Akinwale has sought the support of media professionals in Ekiti State towards achieving the vision of rooting out all criminals elements.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, CP Akinwale affirmed that media professionals are key stakeholders required in the fight against crime.
He thanked Ekiti journalists for the positive projection of the activities of the police urging them to continue to do more.
He said, “When you work with us and we have better interactions we will do well; if we are close we will ensure information are made straight. I commend the support you have given me and what I have achieved is based on your cooperation
“The first time I came I was able to touch and feel the impact of Journalism; on my resumption I was able to address the press and understand each other. I appreciate you Sir I enjoy your support I am part of you and I am still part of you and we will continue to do our Best for the society so that the society will remember us.
Also, the Chairman of NUJ, Ekiti State, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi commended the CP’s achievement since inception of office and expressed desire to work with the Nigeria Police while making constructive criticism if need be.
“The CP came to Ekiti State with a very clear record, within few weeks you showed up we have seen your efforts in the state security. We have a CP that when he arrived we started recording peace in the state. We want to appreciate you.
“We don’t want to join the opposite side where people celebrate negativity, and that is why we want to commend you. If we have record of any other officers that have done well we will recognize them.
“Over time we noticed that a lot of association and body do not acknowledge or respect us, people only value us for our platform therefore when people like you honour us we value it, we are always happy. Your success has been recorded following the arrest of suspects in connection to the kidnapping of school children and suspects in connection with the recent killing of some Traditional leaders.”
