Ekiti Council Chairman Unveils Achievements, Promises to Do More

The Chairman of Ilejemeje Local Government of Ekiti State Hon. Osadare Paul Oloruntoba has promised to continue to embark on projects that will have direct impact on the lives of his people and boost the economy of the council.

The council Chairman made this known while unveiling some of his achievements in office which include construction of Local Government Permanent Secretariat at Eda-Oniyo Ekiti, Installation of Solar Lamp/extension of electricty at Ijaro and Iye – Ekiti

Others are renovation of Town Hall in Eda-Oniyo Ekiti, Extension of Electricity to rural areas such as Ipere – Ekiti, Construction and renovation of opened market stalls in Iludun – Ekiti and another ones at Ijesamodu – Ekiti
as well as Construction of lockup shops in Ewu – Ekiti just to mention but a few.

Aside the infrastructure development of Ilejemeje, the Chairman also disclosed the achievements recorded in the areas of staff welfare, introduction of policies and programmes to cushion fuel subsidy removal, support for women and youths and provision of adequate security to ensure safe environment for business.

Addressing Journalists, the Chairman explained that the completed projects and others still in the pipeline was geared towards giving dividends of democracy to the people of the Local Government in line with the six point agenda of His Excellency Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to further bring economic prosperity and good governance to the people of the State.

The Chairman also confirmed the recruitment of eight security personnel to guard against rampant kidnappings from EDA-ONIYO/OBBO-AYAGUNLE border town of Kwara State, ILUDUN/ISAN/AYEDE border town of Ilejemeje Local Government, Ewu/Ayetoro border town of Ido/Osi Local Government, Ijesamodu/Ikun border town of Moba Local Government while he has approved the payment of thirty thousand naira (#30,000.00) only as monthly stipends for each personnel.

This according him has brought relative peace to the entire communities of Ilejemeje Local Government.

Mr Oloruntoba noted that the solar lamp installation was
sequel to the epileptic power supply being experience by communities in the council with a promise to do more.

The chairman added that various working tools were provided to workers and huge investment was made in the agriculture sector such as nursing of palm seedlings and providing support for farmers.

He appreciated people of the council for their support and urged them to continue to partner government to do more.
