EKITI BORN RENOWNED PROFESSOR FAGBOHUN, ABRAHAM BABATOPE PASSES ON

The death has occured of Dr. Fagbohun, Abraham Babatope of Usi Ekiti, at the age of 81.

Fagbohun, Abraham Babatope according to family died on Monday.

Born on July 27, 1941, late Fagbohun obtained MSc. (Mathematics) from the Peoples’ Friendship University, USSR, in 1973 and Ph.D (Mathematical Statistics) from University College, Swansea, Wales, in 1978.

The research interest of Dr. A. B. Fagbohun was in the area of Stochastic processes applied to biological and time series models.

He has many peer-review journal articles to his credit.

He taught Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, where he rose to the rank of Reader before he retired from active service from the University.

After bowing out of active service in Ife, Dr Fagbhoun had a stint at Bowen University, Iwo, in Osun State, where he was appointed Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics on the 1st of February, 2013 and served in that capacity until the 31st of July same year.

He is survived by wife, Mrs Mary Olufunke Fagbohun(Née Agbeyo), children and grandchildren.
