The St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Odo-Ado, Ado Ekiti, celebrated and sent-forth 11 clerics with various gifts for the first time in about 10 years.
Some of those honoured had served the church at different times for about five to nine years ago before the sent-forth ceremony which was conducted by the Vicar of thr church, Ven. Victor Ojo was done.
Among the beneficiaries are the immediate past vicar and former Archdeacon, Ven. Bode Otenaike and his wife. Others are Ven. And Mrs. T.T. Bello, Ven. And Mrs. A. A. Olufadeji, Rev.& Mrs. Oladepo Falayi, Ven. & Mrs. James Oguntuase, Ven. & Mrs. Emmanuel Abiodun Oyeanumua, Ven. & Mrs. Jacob A. Ajagunna, Ven. & Mrs. Oluwafemi Owa, Evang. & Mrs. Owonikoko Olanrewaju, Rev. & Mrs. Olusegun Osunguna and Rev. Olusola Adeoti.
Separate gifts were presented to the husbands and their spouses by the church, the Archdeaconry, the youths organization, women organization and birthday groups in the church.
In his sermon, the Vicar of the church, Ven. Victor Ojo, said the church appreciated them for their good service during their terms and that they deserved to be rewarded.
He admonished them to continue the good work in their various stations, pointing out that their proper reward is with God and advised others to emulate them.
Some of the congregants who spoke to our correspondent, hailed the step taken by the church to honour and present gifts to those who had passed through the church and said it will be a source of encouragement to those still serving there.
