Ekiti 2026: ADC Governorship Candidate, Ambassador Bejide unveils 7-point manifesto

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, Amb. Dare Bejide, on Monday unveiled his seven-point manifesto, promising to deliver a people-oriented, transparent and technology-driven administration if elected.

The manifesto unveiling, which took place in Ado-Ekiti, was attended by party leaders, supporters and stakeholders, amid renewed calls for political change in the state.

Speaking to our correspondent after the event, Bejide said his vision is to build “a unique system of government that caters for everybody,” stressing that his administration would focus on prosperity, security and institutional efficiency.

He explained that the manifesto, presented as a written document, was deliberately designed to serve as a reference point for the people of Ekiti State, ensuring accountability and transparency.

According to him, “the essence of putting this manifesto in a documented form is to give Ekiti people evidence of the promises made by the ADC”.

He added that the blueprint for revitalising the state is clearly articulated in the document, a signal that his candidacy is driven by a well-structured plan.

Bejide outlined key areas of his agenda to include free and qualitative basic education, mechanised agriculture, accessible and affordable healthcare, and infrastructure development driven by the needs of the people rather than political considerations.

He said, “I envision an Ekiti State where governance is transparent, institutions are efficient, and citizens are empowered to achieve their full potential without hindrance”.

The ADC candidate also criticised ongoing projects in the state, describing some as “white elephant projects,” citing a flyover in Ado-Ekiti which, according to him, serves only a fraction of the population.

Bejide further emphasised the importance of youth empowerment, noting that young people must be equipped to compete in the global economy.

On party mobilisation ahead of the governorship poll, he urged ADC members to remain committed and work tirelessly to secure victory at the polls.

He said, “It is not easy to wrest power, but with dedication and hard work, we will succeed. The people are not satisfied with the current administration due to the hardship they face”.

In a major highlight of the event, the candidate received the endorsement of the Yoruba Study Group, a socio-political organisation, which pledged its support for his candidacy, describing him as a credible alternative capable of repositioning Ekiti State for sustainable development.

The endorsement is expected to boost Bejide’s campaign as political activities intensify ahead of the governorship election.
