EID FITRL: EKITI NUJ FELICITATES MUSLIMS, HARPS ON LESSONS OF SEASON

The Ekiti State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitated Muslim faithful in Ekiti State, particularly members of the Union on this year’s Eid-el-Fitril.

The Union, in a statement co-signed by its chairman Comrade Kayode Babatuyi and the Secretary Comrade O’Seun Ogunsakin, congratulated Muslim ummah on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

The umbrella body for journalists urged them not to forget that the season symbolizes piety, self-denial and devotion to Allah.

The NUJ added that these lessons, particularly devotion to Allah, must not be limited to the season of Ramadan but must be evident in their everyday lifestyle as Allah commanded.

While recognizing the importance of religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and national unity, the Union hailed Muslims in Ekiti State for the harmonious relationship they have with adherents of other faiths; adding that this has promoted development in the State.

“The Ekiti State Council of NUJ wishes all Muslim faithful a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Fitril celebration, and prays that the lessons of Ramadan will continue to guide us all towards a more harmonious and prosperous society”, the Union prayed.
