…demands better welfare for workers, pensioners
The Nigeria labour Congress NLC, Ekiti State chapter has felicitated Muslims especially workers on this year’s celebration of Eid-el-kabir.
In a statement in Ado-Ekiti, NLC Chairman, Comrade Olatunde Kolapo appreciated God on behalf of Muslim workers in the state for witnessing the day in sound health.
Comrade Olatunde Kolapo appealed to the faithfuls to celebrate the Salah with modesty and desist from any ungodly activity.
The Ekiti State NLC Chairman urged Muslims to follow the tenet of the celebration by given to the needy and less privileged in the society as directed by the Quaran.
Comrade Olatunde Kolapo prayed Almighty Allah to continue to protect Ekiti Workers and intervene in the current state of insecurity in the country.
The NLC Chairman used the opportunity to appreciate the State Governor, Dr kayode Fayemi for given priority to the welfare of workers but pleaded that more oustanding benefits are paid.
Among the benefits are leave bonus, promotion arrears, cooperative deductions and other entitlements of pensioners in the state.
Comrade Olatunde promised that the present NLC leadership would not relent in demanding for the welfare of Nigerian workers.
