Senator Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, disclosed his victory in the governorship election held on September 21st in Benin on Wednesday evening. He credited it to God’s grace, persistent prayer, and the Edo people’s assistance.
Governor Okpebholo urged Nigerians to put their faith in God alone, regardless of life’s obstacles, during his post-swearing-in Thanksgiving service at Samuel Ogbumudia Stadium in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
Additionally, Governor Okpebholo described in detail how he discovered a dead bat on his bed prior to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing that he had won the Edo State governorship election on September 21.
He remarked: “I want to thank God. In this last election, while I was praising God, they (traducers) were busy operating from television. They were busy operating from social media. They were busy operating from other television stations.
However, I knew the secret, so I took the fight to God. They said I was insane a few days before the election. We came together to give thanks to God in this state. They questioned, “What is he doing?” They appeared on television. I was, however, hearing God’s voice. The battle was won by me.
“I am thankful to the Godly men who filled the void. Those who thought that everything was possible with God have my gratitude. And I will give you one piece of advice: put all your trust in God, and he will take care of everything.
The governor revealed that during his electioneering, he did not seek assistance from any local physician or prophet, or go to any shrine or divination center. Prominent politicians, musicians, and clergy attended the Thanksgiving worship service.
