DON’T LIVE YOUR LIFE TO IMPRESS PEOPLE…REV AFE COUNSELS JOURNALISTS

…as NUJ roundoff press week with thanksgiving Service

Christians, particularly Journalists have been advised to live a simple life and endeavour to be joyful at all times irrespective of the situation.

Founder of House of Faith, Ado Ekiti, Reverend Tunde Afe gave the advice while delivering a sermon during the church service which coincides with the special Thanksgiving Service of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Ekiti State Council to mark the 2022 Press Week.

In his text taking from the book of Psalm, Chapter one hundred verses one to five, Reverend Afe urged the Congratulation not to allow anything to steal their joy and never should they build their happiness on material things.

According to him, being joyful has both spiritual and health benefits, hence he urged christians not to compete with anyone in life or live to impress others, saying such attitude were major things that have stolen the joy of many.

He said:”As long as you keep comparing your life with others you will continue to have problem.Your joy must not be built on money or material things.

“Don’t allow anything to tamper with your joy, It has even been discovered that a lot of diseases are associated with stress, sorrow and depression.

“Joy chases away depression, mental health, sickness and every other evils, you need joy to receive from God, a joyful person is always optimistic.

Speaking on the poor economy, Reverend Afe noted that the situation is a global problem and everyone must learn to deal with it.

“Things will get worst, the economic problem is global so take your heart away from material things and choose to be joyful.Your focus must be how powerful awesome and great your God is.

In a remark during the service, the Chairman, NUJ Ekiti State, Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela who spoke through the secretary, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi said the visit to the church was to appreciate God for his protection over members and for the successes recorded by the union.

Comrade Ojomoyela appreciated, Reverend Tunde Afe for his support for the union over the years.
