Some eminent Nigerians have been conferred with Exemplary Performance Awards by the Leadership of the Southern Women Empowerment Forum(SWEF) .
The colourful event held at Wells Carlton Hotel, Asokoro ,Abuja saw a veteran journalist ,media/ development consultant, Alhaji Yaqoub POPOOLA being honoured alongside some heads of government agencies,such as the Director General , Department of State Services (DSS),Alhaji Yusuf magaji Bichi ,Alhaji Ahmed Rufai ,DG Nigeria Intelligence Agency(NIA) and House of Representatives member from Oyo State, Hon Stanley Olajide
Other awardees were, Dr Akinwunmi Akinfenwa, Her Royal highness. Ivrie Emiko .Olori Atuwase 111.wife of Olu of warri and the Royal father of the day Amb. Abeeb Adetoyese Abayi, the Olu of Ilegbo Kingdom, Osun State,
Responding ,Alhaji Popoola ,who thanked the organisers for the honour also promised to promote women course at all times.
According to him,” receiving such a prestigious accolade is not only a proud moment for me but also an encouragement to uphold the ethics of the profession by ensuring gender balancing in my reportage.
The SWEF President, Dr Dr Hellen Taiwo-Adebakin said the honour was in appreciation of the tremendous supports of the awardees towards women empowerment and emancipation in Nigeria.
