Crime: AIG Commends Ekiti Police Command Over Successes Recorded

The Assistant Inspector General, AIG, of Police in Zone 17, comprising Ondo and Ekiti States, Adebowale Williams on Thursday expressed delight over the various breakthroughs recorded by the Ekiti State Police Command in the fight against crime.

Adebowale Williams gave the commendation after receiving a complimentary copy of a book titled
“RRS:Accounts of Stewardship of a Dogged Squad and Pictorial Evidence of Crime-Fighting in Ekiti State” authored by the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad of the command, Marcus Ola-Ogundola.

The book which contains records of crime fighting in the state was officially presented to the AIG by the Commissioner of Police, Dare Ogundare during the visit of the AIG to Ekiti State.

The AIG explained that the  book had attested to the fact that the command particularly the RRS Unit was diligent, hardworking and committed in the fight against crime urging them to keep it up.

Adebowale Williams promised to handover the book to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun so as to have first hand information about what the command has been able to achieve.

He commended the RRS Commander who is also the author of the book, Marcus Ogundola for a job well done and display of professionalism in service.

AIG Williams tasked officers and men of the command to create a cordial relationship with members of the public for effective community policing across the state. 

On welfare of police officers serving in the command, the AIG reiterated the readiness of the Inspector General of Police to prioritize their welfare for effective service delivery.

Earlier in his speech, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Dare Ogundare, described Ekiti State as the most peaceful state in the southwest region of the country owing to the various in ovations and crime fighting mechanism introduced.

He pledged the continuous readiness of the police in the state to safeguard the lives and property of residents and make the state a good harbitant to live.
