Council Workers Praise Governor Oyebanji Over December Salary Bailout

Local government workers in Ekiti State under the auspices of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE have extended an appreciation to Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji over his directive towards the payment of the December, 2024 salary to council workers and primary school Teachers even before the arrival of council’s allocations.

Amidst the euphoria, the workers congratulated the Governor on his 57th birthday with prayers to God to grant him long life and prosperity.

The workers who spoke through their president Comrade Oluseyi Olatunde who affirmed that the salary bail out had again attested to the fact that Governor Oyebanji is a lover of the masses and does not discriminate.

According to the president, the workers were overwhelmed with joy having heard the instructions of His Excellency towards the payment of the December 2024 salary; knowing fully well that the local government is yet to get the allocation for December which ordinary is the major source being used for the payment of salaries.

He thanked the Governor for his magnanimity and urged him to continue in such positive direction with a promise that the council workers would reciprocate the gesture at the appropriate time.

Olatunde also commended the Governor for the payment of minimum wage of seventy thousand to workers adding that the consequential adjustment was a fair deal for workers.

The NULGE president however challenged workers to continue to discharge their work diligently so as to justify the huge investment of government in the civil service.
