…as NULGE Elects New Executives

The Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Hon. Sola Ogunshina says a partnership between Local Government Executives and the workforce would redefine good governance in the interest of the citizens.
Ogunshina who made the disclosure in his welcome address during the election of the new Executives of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee, Ido/Osi Local Government chapter of Ekiti State, also said bridging the gap in governance would in no small measure ensure the security, safety and welfare of citizens.
The council boss who pointed out that
trust, accountability and transparency have always been his watchwords and guide to accomplish good governance, also tasked the leadership of the NULGE to imbibe such spirit in order to make life worthwhile and more efficient for members.
“Trust, accountability and transparency have always been my watchwords and guide to pull off good governance, I urge you all to take solace in such in order to make life more bearable to your members”.
He thanked members of the Union, particularly at the local government, for their sincerety of purpose and roles at ensuring democracy thrives in all facets of life at the grassroot level.
Ogunshina commended the outgoing Executives for their outstanding performance and charged the in-coming Executives to live up to expectation of members.
He equally solicit for harmonious relationship between the management and the NULGE to achieve his vision of even and rapid development of the local Government.
The newly elected executive members of the association that would pilot the affairs of the NULGE for the next four years in the local government area are: Com Ayodeji Ogunjobi elected branch Chairman, Com. Akomolafe Feyisayo elected Vice Chairman, Com Olalemi Dayo elected secretary, Com Ogunmoroti Ayodeji elected Treasurer.
While Com Bamgboye Mojisola elected Women Committee Representative, Com. Adebayo Kemi elected Auditor, Com Idowu Adekunle elected Assistance Secretary, Com. Apaniya Kayode elected Young Workers Representative and Comrade Alonge Bamidele elected the Trustee to the Union.
Others include all departmental Representatives; Works was represented by Com. Adeyemi Kayode, PHC by Com. Ilesanmi B.B, Finance and Supply Com. Oke Funmilayo, Environmental Services by Com Orimadegun Sunday,
Community Development by Com. Adebowale Babatope, Agriculture and Natural Resources by Com. Adewumi Adebola and Adminstrative Department was represented by Comrade Olabinjo Toyin.
The state President of the NULGE, Comrade Oluseyi Olatunde who also doubles as the returning Officer at the forum announced the results stressed that the election were keenly contested freely and fairly.
He called on the new leaders to administer the Union with dedication, commitment and fear of God, adding that they should make members welfare a top priority.
The new officers were adminitered the oath of office by the state president of the Union Comrade Oluseyi Olatunde.
In his remarks, the newly elected branch Chairman Comrade Ogunjobi Ayodeji thanked members for giving him and other new Executive members the mandate of four years and promised to live up to expectation.
He also promised to convert the abandon NULGE Creche to Information Technology Centre ICT for the use of the workforce.
Present at the event include all the state Executives officers of NULGE and branch chairmen of Ekiti East, Irepodun/ Ifeodun, Moba and Ekiti West local Government among others.
