CORRUPTION: Group Seeks Investigation, Prosecution of NCPC Secretary

A group known as Pilgrims Society of Nigeria has accused the Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Prilgrim Commission, NCPC Mr Yakubu Pam of corruption, high-handedness and nepotism.

The group is calling on President Mohammadu Buhari to investigate secretary and bring him to book if found culpable.

Addressing a Press conference in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, chairman of the group, Mr Adamu Malgwi highlighted other offences of the NCPC to include, illegitimate enrichment of himself through sales of specially allocated forex, failure to involve BPP in procurements, sidelining of NCPC Board, incompetence and high handedness

He urged the presidency to look into the allegations on Mr Yakubu and prosecute him accordingly.

According to him, PSN had sent an eleven paged letter to the president dated 22nd November, 2022 and was received with the stamps of the Presidency on 24th November, 2022 on the same matter.

He said: “I wants to appeal to the President to make proper and timely investigation of the Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Prilgrim Commission as we all know that offence of corruption is totally abhorred by Mr. President.

“We are just coming back from a prayer mountain here in Ondo State where we (all State Cordinators) prayed for God’s intervention in the country’s affairs”.

“We also call on Yakubu Pam to willingly resign as the Secretary of the Nigeria Christian pilgrims Commission, NCPC, and hand himself over to EFCC for questioning.” He stressed.

He also stated that a nationwide protest is the next means by which they intend to drive home their demands if government failed to listen to them.
