Corps Members in Ekiti Trained on Use of Basic Broadcasting Equipments

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Editorial CDS members in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Thursday, were trained on the use of basic broadcasting equipments.

The one-day training held at three media houses in Ekiti State including; Ekiti TV, NTA and Voice FM respectively, in order to add more knowledge in news editing, news transmission, various news rooms and their uses.

During the visit to NTA, the Assistant chief Engineer, Engr. Olayinka Abodunrin, gave an insightful tour to the corps members in the studio, with explanations on various equipments and what they are used for.

He emphasized on the acoustic nature of a studio to avoid noise and the need for a media house, as it sends the current happenings to the general public.

Also speaking, Mrs. Eugenia Ukwueze, manager news and current affairs, introduced the master control room (MCR), with a detailed knowledge on how it is being used, with differences to location-based news and studio-based news.

During an interview, the Editorial CDS president, Ebenezer Laz Ordu, appreciated the media houses and expressed the knowledge he has gathered and hopes to be an asset to the country at large.

“Thank you to NYSC, thank you to NTA, VOICE FM, EKTV for giving us, members of Editorial CDS, the opportunity to learn new things and adding to our well of knowledge. Thank you Editorial CDS for also complying”, he added.

Corps members contributed to the fun of the visits, as questions were not left unanswered and the corps members never felt unwelcomed.
