The trend of killing and kidnapping of security personnel and their families in Nigeria has become a source of concern to a cross section of people who spoke with newsmen in Ado Ekiti.
The recent attack is the killing of an NSCDC officer in Ikole axis of Ekiti while his family members were kidnapped.
Those who spoke, affirmed that, in resent times, theft, killing, maiming and kidnapping against officers have been on the high side in Nigeria.
Report have it that security officers most especially the DSS, Police and Civil Defence who always embark on intelligence gathering are most affected.
In an interview, a Security expert who spoke under a condition of anonymity confirmed that most of the security operatives that conducted various intelligence gathering are being trailed by criminal elements.
He further stated that many of their families are not also safe as the criminal elements are after their lives.
