Ekiti State government has been called upon to extend the ongoing rehabilitation projects in the state capital to the major road along Surajudeen Primary School, Adebayo, Ado Ekiti, which has almost become inpassable for both human and vehicles.
Some members of Jehovah Witness Assembly in the community made the call while speaking with the Radio Nigeria during their routine repair of the road with sand-filling of potholes and damaged portions.
Those who spoke including Mr Johnson Aduloju and Mrs. Adebola Ogunleye said the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in the area has been responsible for grading, maintanance and rehabilitation of the road for over forty years but could no longer continue due to lack of logistics, hence the request for government’s intervention.
Other members, like Mr Julius Ajayi and Mrs Elisabeth Ojo explained that the situation had subjected people of the area to untold hardship as they have been battling to cope with the poor condition of the road, especially since the start of this rainy season.
They appreciated the efforts of the government in the rehabilitation of the different roads in the state and particularly appealed to the authority of Ado Local Government to assist in repairing the road.
