Commission Chairman Charges Staff to be Prayerful, Diligent at Prayer Sessions Across Ekiti LGAs

The Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission has continued its monthly prayers and supplications to God for divine intervention in the challenges confronting the nation.

The prayers organised by LGSC as a result of God’s leading took the team to Efon and Ekiti West LGAs in the state.

Speaking during the tour, Chief Samuel Alaba Abejide, Chairman Local Government Service Commission who was represented by Mrs Titilayo Toba-Ojo, Permanent Secretary of the LGSC, said the prayers were necessitated as a result of insecurity and economic challenges in the country.

According to the Chairman, Ekiti is known to be a peaceful state, hence the need for prayers and supplications to God to intervene and restore peace not only in the state but also the nation at large.

He charged the members of staff of the various LGAs to be prayerful and diligent at work to enable them meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people at the grassroots in the discharge of their duties adding “you are expected to be the change agent to drive the shared prosperity agenda of the Ekiti State Government”

According to him, “It is very necessary that we pray for ourselves and government. We must come together and call upon God. Our prayers must not stop here but continue on each family’s altar because when there is peace in Ekiti State, there will be peace in our homes”

A sermon was given on the text -2 Chronicles 7:14: if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Highlights of the prayers were supplications to God concerning the spate of kidnappings, banditry and killings and the economic crises in the country.

The Chairman of Ekiti West LGA, Hon. Elder Moses Omojola enjoined the workers to cooperate with the leadership in the service and His Excellency, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Governor of Ekiti State noting that the development of the state is a joint responsibility of all.
