City Boy Meets Ekiti NUJ Chairman, Seeks Positive Projection of Tinubu’s Government

…Promises Empowerment for Youths

A socio-political group, the City Boy Movement, has sought the support of media professionals in Ekiti State towards the positive projection of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Director of the movement, Asiwaju Oluwafemi Kasali, made the plea when he led other members of the executive committee on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi.

Kasali, who acknowledged the power of the media in shaping public opinion, appealed to journalists to provide better interpretations of the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration to the people, particularly the youths, to enable them have a clearer understanding of the government’s initiatives and their potential benefits.

According to him, President Tinubu has done well for the country, but many Nigerians do not have an in-depth understanding of the administration’s programmes and the future benefits they could bring.

He explained that the City Boy Movement in Ekiti State would operate beyond politics, focusing on youth engagement, empowerment and education.
Kasali said the movement was also working to collaborate with other youth organisations to organise a summit that would provide a platform for youths across the state to brainstorm and develop workable resolutions that could serve as a template for youth development in Ekiti State.

Responding, the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, commended the City Boy Movement for the visit and assured the delegation of the union’s readiness to give the organisation maximum support within the limits of its professional responsibilities.

Babatuyi reiterated that the NUJ would continue to uphold professionalism and discharge its duties with utmost integrity and diligence.
