A community leader from Usi Ekiti, High Chief Ajayi Ibikunle has described as untrue the allegations by some protesters that he was harassing youths of the community with police.
Addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti, High Chief Ibikunle said the protest was stage managed by some unscrupulous elements paid by some highly placed personalities in Usi Ekiti just to dent his image.
High Chief Ibikunle explained that he loves his community and the youths saying he would never engage in any act that could cause confusion as alleged.
The High Chief noted that Sunday Ojo was arrested by police based on his persistent threat to kidnap and kill him.
According to Chief Ibikunle, Sunday Ojo was arrested and prosecuted about a year ago but granted bail pending the determination of the suit.
However, Chief Ibikunle noted that instead of Ojo to show remorse while the case was still in court, he threw a lavish party celebrating the inability of the court to do anything against him.
At the party, Ojo was said to have boast openly that he would still kidnap him and if possible take his life as early threatened.
High Chief Ibikunle noted that it was based on such threat that he reported to the police for intervention a situation that led to his arrest.
He advised youths and members of the public to disregard the insinuations with a promise to continue to support the growth and development of Usi Ekiti.
Ibikunle said: I am not a trouble maker, I love my people, I have been decorated by many groups in the community, I have my house and investment in Usi Ekiti, how would I engage in any wrong doings.
“I make bold to say that there was no protest at all, I slept over in the same town, how come I did not see any sign of Protest?
