The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ekiti State Command has welcomed a new State Commandant, Commandant Sosina Paul.
The handing-over ceremony took place at the Command’s headquarters along Ado/Ikere Road, Ekiti State, with officers and men in attendance.
The outgoing Commandant, Agboola Adisa Sunday, thanked the officers and men for their support during his eight-month tenure and urged them to continue contributing to the development of the Corps, the state, and the country.
Commandant Sosina Paul, in his maiden speech, thanked the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for entrusting him with the leadership of Ekiti NSCDC.
He pledged to work within the existing laws to protect lives and property while respecting people’s fundamental rights and privileges.
The new Commandant challenged the officers and men to uphold professionalism in their operations and relationships with other agencies, avoiding unnecessary feuds that could tarnish the Corps’ image.
Commandant Sosina Paul, a fellow of the Security Institute, holds a PhD in Forensic Accounting and another in Peace and Security Studies.
He is a chartered accountant and a member of several accounting professional associations in Nigeria and abroad.
He previously served at the Finance Department of the National Headquarters in Abuja and later as the second-in-command in Ekiti before his elevation to the rank of Commandant.
