…sets to mark World TB Day

The State Advocacy Group working on the Global Fund C-19RM/RSSH Grant aimed at sustaining the health system in Ekiti State held their monthly coordination meeting.
The meeting, which had in attendance CBOs implementing the community component of C-19RM/RSSH Grant held on Thursday, in Ado-Ekiti to chart the way forward.
In his welcome address, the Executive Director, Environmental Development and Family Health Organization, EDFHO, Sir Olu Ogunrotimi appreciated members of the team for their efforts in the past quarter which earned plaudits from the team in Abuja.
“By the time they were reporting our state, we really did well. I just want to encourage us to put more efforts. We hope that every CSO will continue to renew our MOUs and it will be good everyone is carried along.”
The meeting witnessed review of activities in the last quarter as success stories were recorded and ways to move the organisation forward was proffered.
Highlight of the meeting was report presentations by the various CBOs aimed at reviewing their activities to ensure efficient service delivery.
Meanwhile, the State Advocacy Team met with the State Tuberculosis Programme Manager, Orojo Adebayo to follow up with the activities of TB Programme.
In his response, Adebayo noted that there is an improvement in case finding adding that the group is working towards setting up a 15% target to eradicate the prevalence cases of TB in the state.
While commending the C-19RM/RSSH Grant for their intervention, he urged the group to extend their programme to other areas to strengthen the health system adding that plans are underway to commemorate the 2023 World TB Day in the state.
His words: Relationship of health workers towards patients is taking a positive outcome. There is an improvement in case finding and we will continue to work towards it.
“We want to look inwards, set up 15% target for ourselves. The private sectors are not carried along. RSS Grant is good. They should extend the programme to be able to extend the health services to those areas to strengthen the health services.”
